Fabian Fred MOMNEY and Caroline BEAUREGARD updated

Fabian Fred MOMNEY (1838-1894)
 and Caroline BEAUREGARD (1841-1915)
Monroe County, Michigan and Lucas County, Ohio

True confession time--Fabian Fred MOMNEY may not really be named that...I found him named Fred in some records and Fabian in others. My understanding of the Catholics (specifically French Canadian Catholics?) was that they were called by their middle names, but their first names were used in official records. I don't believe I've seen his name officially written Fabian Fred anywhere...so I always feel a little guilty when I type his name, but I had to have some way to keep him straight. Maybe his name is Fred(erick) Fabian...

Fabian Fred MOMNEY, son of Hubert Gilbert MOMTMENY and and his first wife Marie DUBREUIL
    b. 19 February 1838 in Vienna, Monroe, Michigan
    d. 18 March 1894 in Oregon Township, Lucas, Ohio

    m. 14 June 1863 in Vienna Township, Monroe, Michigan to

Caroline BEAUREGARD, daughter of Hyacinthe BEAUREGARD and Felicity CAMPEAU
    b. 3 October 1841 in Monroe county, Michigan
    d. 16 June 1915 in Oregon, Lucas, Ohio

Caroline and Fred were the parents of 3 children:

1-Frederick MOMINEE b. 26 August 1866 d. 22 September 1961 (m. 1 June 1889 to Pearl VINCENT)--my great grandparents (click on Frederick's name to go to the post about him)

2-Caroline MOMNEY b. April 1865  d. 4 October 1931 (m. 22 January 1884 to Richard NAVARRE)

This photo was labeled in the email as Alpha, but both census records I have say Alphia

Caroline and Richard (son of Robert J NAVARRE and Catherine GEYER) were the parents of:

     a-Gilbert NAVARRE b. 20 October 1884 d. 26 October 1884

     b-Elnora NAVARRE b. 25 March 1886 d. 29 July 1961 (m. Charles Walter MILLS 22 January 1907)

     c-Alphia NAVARRE b. 30 August 1888 d. 26 September 1958 (m. Ruby Marie GALLAGHER 10 May 1937)

     d-Louis Oliver NAVARRE b. 23 December 1891 d. 14 March 1984  (m. Edith Alexandra MATSON 16 July 1957)

     e-James Richard NAVARRE b. 5 August 1900 d. 28 June 1973 (m. Alma Lucile OWEN 20 May 1924)

     f-William NAVARRE b. 7 November 1903 d. 28 April 1976 (m. Leila BEALE 13 February 1924)

There is a possibility of another child:
Ethel NAVARRE b. and d. before June 1900?
I found her on a distant cousin's chart but have not seen any records. The 1900 census says Caroline NAVARRE had 5 children with 4 still living and the 1910 says 6 children with 5 still living. I have the deceased child as being Gilbert, but that doesn't mean Ethel wasn't Caroline and Richard's.

3-Tousont MOMNEY b. about 1867-1868 d. before the 1900 census

I have no info on Tousont other than his enumeration in the 1880 census. In the 1900 census Caroline MOMINEE had 2 children (an error) with 2 still living and in the 1910 census it says 3 children with 2 still living.

Just as there were several Fred Momneys running around, there were also several Tousont/Tousant/Toussaint Momney's running around. Fred had a half-brother by the name of Toussaint who was born 1868/1869 (plus there was another Toussaint born 1855...)

Fabian Fred had at least 13 siblings...6 full and 8 half-siblings. Fabian's mother, Marie, died when he was only 11-12 and it looks like his dad remarried soon after to a woman 20 years his junior, Victoria PRUDHOMME and they had 5 children. She was only about 6 years older than Fabian was. Victoria died in 1865 and Hubert married a 3rd wife, Emily PETERS/Amelia St. PETRE, soon after, and they had 3 children.

Fred was a farmer and it looks like he immigrated to Ohio in  between the births of his first 2 children, so in between April 1865 and August 1866. After Fred died, Caroline lived with her daughter Caroline and her family.
